Family

Adrianne and her two sisters Erica and Rosalind were raised in California by their Mother Antoinette Martinez. After raising her three children on her own, Antoinette went on to become a very well respected professor of anthropology at Chico State University of California. The twins, Erica Perez and Rosalind Tapia are both raising their families in California.

In 2006 Adrianne grasped the opportunity to go to New Mexico to meet her birth father for the first time, and celebrate her very first Fathers Day. It was an eye opening, cathartic and healing experience for them both. Her father Charlie Soto and her two new sisters Samantha Soto who is a mother in Albuquerque, New Mexico and Jennifer Soto who is a mother and hair stylist in Denver, Colorado, welcomed her with loving acceptance. In total, Adrianne is the oldest of five girls.

Now that Adrianne has married into the Kanekoa family of Maui she enjoys an ever growing family circle including her wonderful mother-in-love, Shannon, who owns a tour business on Maui called Hawaiian Traditions Tours, her father-in-law James and her four new brothers-in-law, Maika, Kaulana, Lokahi, and Nakiiaweawe.
The Kanekoa family has descendents on Maui's lush east side and on the Big Island. These family lines trace back to pre-contact Hawaii.

Grandma Rachael Kanekoa is a special favorite of Adrianne's, she is a wonderful 81 years young lady who is one of the few remaining pure blooded Hawaiians, a woman who's life has spanned the breadth of the old traditional ways and modern Maui life. Adrianne loves to visit her and Uncle Willie at their home in Kahului and hear them tell stories of Hawaiian spiritual healing, mystical experiences and what Maui was like in the old days.

Adrianne feels blessed to be a part of such a loving and dynamic Maui family.

Spirituality,

Although Adrianne's extended New Mexico family is Catholic, her immediate family did not raise her with any specific religion or spiritual beliefs. Over her years of self discovery Adrianne came to realize that the true richness of life was found beyond what lay on the surface. She read inspiring books by Paramahansa Yogananda, A Course in Miracles, Eckhart Tolle, Hermann Hesse, and studied the lives of saints and others who were spiritually lead, all this helped her to sort through her own personal sense of what felt right, good and true in relation to the divine essence of life.

At age 19 Adrianne learned to meditate, over the years meditation grew into a way for her to deeply communicate with the God-source within her. She has had visions, dreams and mystical experiences that have validated her personal connection to this deeper truth. Adrianne's husband's family is also deeply spiritual, practicing Mormon Christian beliefs blended with aspects of ancient Hawaiian spirituality. Adrianne is inspired by this and enjoys relating with her family in non-dogmatic ways that focus on the universal spiritual truths of unconditional love, oneness (non-duality) of all in god, forgiveness, and faith. Today all aspect of her life are lead from this place of connection to the divine. Amen.
